HFC134a airsoft gas is recommended.

There has been some questions going around about the accuracy and range of the WA M4 CQB R and we did a little testing with our batch. First, we checked range. I used a rangefinder by bushnell to check the distance of some static targets, aka trees. The range of a tree line to my position was approx. 68 yards. This is over 200 feet. I loaded up an M4 and fired a shot without adjusting hopup. The BB fired in a slightly downward angle and reached the tree, this was due to the lack of hopup. I adjusted the hopup until the BB fired in a nice straight line. The BB struck the tree with no problem at that range. I did not test accuracy at that range, but did note that a human sized target could be struck 10 out of 10 times from that distance. I was very impressed. The next test I tried shooting for accuracy at 15 yards. See figure 1 below:

The shot grouping was very tight at 2.5 inches. I did not fire from a rested bench but from a kneeling position. All shots were fired from semi auto. The next shot group was fired at 25 yards, see figure 2 below:

This grouping was a around 3 inches and again was very consistant. All tests were performed at 75 degrees F and using standard Green Gas with Bioval BBBMax 0.27g BB's.
