Flashback Friday: Old School Glock Rail Adapter and Magazine Grip

Hello everyone and welcome to Airsoft Extreme's Flashback Friday.

Today we are taking a look at a neat little accessory for airsoft Glock users. This adapter used to come on replicas from Taiwan and Japan from makers like KWA and KSC. If you have not seen one before you might be wondering what it is and what it does.

What it does

The adapter adds a standard accessory rail so you can mount flashlights and lasers. That flat spot in the middle is not decorative. It is built to hold an extra magazine and gives you a second grip option by using the magazine as a makeshift foregrip.

Installation

  1. Remove the lock screw and the lock from your replica.
  2. Slide the adapter onto the replica accessory rail. For this demo we are using an Umarex Glock 17 Gen5 MOS.
  3. Reinstall the lock and the lock screw to secure the adapter.

Mounting a magazine

We are mounting a KWA ATP magazine to the adapter. To do that you first need to remove the magazine base plate.

1. Pull down on the base plate lock to release the base plate.

2. With the base plate removed, slip the magazine into the flat slot on the adapter.

3. Pull down on the base plate lock to make sure the magazine is secured in place.

Once the magazine is locked in you can mount whatever accessory you like to the rail.

Why we like it

This is a simple, clever solution from an earlier generation of replicas. It gives you extra utility and a different handling option without changing the gun or adding bulk. Great for collectors and players who like functional throwback gear.
