How to Replace a Broken Airsoft Magazine Base Plate
Who here is a little clumsy? Sometimes being clumsy is painful… and sometimes it’s surprisingly forgiving. In the case of Lawrence (once again), his clumsiness worked out in his favor—this time.
The Problem
Lawrence dropped his Western Arms 50-round magazine and completely cracked the base plate. (See Picture 1)

At that point, most people would assume the mag is done for… but not so fast.
The Solution
Finding a replacement Western Arms base plate isn’t exactly easy—but luckily, there’s a workaround. The Guarder Magazine Base for Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 4.3 can be used as a compatible replacement. (See Picture 2)

How to Replace the Base Plate
- Remove the damaged base plate.
Press the plunger that holds the base plate in place, then slide the base plate off the magazine. (See Picture 3)

- Install the new base plate.
Slide the replacement base plate onto the magazine until it locks into place. (See Picture 4 & Picture 5)

And just like that, you’re back in business and ready to hit the field again.
Lessons Learned

- Old gear doesn’t mean dead gear. There’s often a workaround if you know where to look.
