How to Lower the FPS on an ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1
Hello and welcome back to another Airsoft Extreme Tech Tip. Today, we're showing you how to lower the FPS on an ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 by replacing the stock spring with an ASG EVO M95 spring.

This can be useful if your Scorpion EVO is shooting too hot for the field where you plan to play, particularly at indoor fields with lower velocity limits.
Before the Spring Change: Stock FPS
Before changing anything, we chronographed the rifle with 0.20g BBs. Our test gun produced readings from approximately 400.9 to 408.9 FPS.

That velocity may be acceptable at some outdoor fields, but always check the specific field's rules before playing. For this guide, we'll lower the velocity by installing an ASG EVO M95 spring.
What You'll Need
- ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1
- ASG EVO M95 spring
- T40 Torx driver or bit
- Eye protection while working around the compressed spring
Step 1: Fold the Stock
Fold the stock to the side to expose the rear of the rifle and gain access to the quick-change spring guide.

Step 2: Remove the Stock Assembly
Use a T40 Torx driver to depress the spring guide. While keeping it depressed, slide the buttstock assembly off the main body of the rifle.

Step 3: Remove the Spring Guide and Stock Spring
With the stock removed, depress the spring guide and rotate it approximately one-quarter turn to release it.
Important: Maintain firm control of the spring guide while removing it. The spring is under tension and can force the spring guide outward when released.

Remove the spring guide and existing spring from the gearbox.

Step 4: Install the ASG EVO M95 Spring
Insert the M95 spring into the gearbox. Reinstall the spring guide by reversing the removal procedure, keeping controlled pressure on the guide as you seat and lock it into place.

Step 5: Reinstall the Stock
Use the T40 Torx driver to depress the spring guide again, then slide the stock assembly back onto the main body of the Scorpion EVO.

After the Spring Change: Test FPS
After installing the M95 spring and reassembling the rifle, we chronographed the same test gun again using 0.20g BBs. Our readings dropped to approximately 312.7 to 314.1 FPS.

In this specific test, the spring change reduced velocity by roughly 90 FPS. Actual results can vary between individual replicas, spring condition, air seal, chronograph setup, and other factors, so always chronograph your own rifle after making changes.
Ready for a Lower-FPS Field Setup
The ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1's quick-change spring system makes an FPS adjustment like this relatively straightforward and can help you configure the rifle for fields with different velocity limits.
If you're not comfortable performing the spring change yourself, visit an Airsoft Extreme location and our staff can help with service and installation options.
Take care, play safe, and we'll see you soon.
