How to Mount a Flashlight on Picatinny, M-LOK, and KeyMod Rails

Need help mounting your flashlight to your airsoft rifle? In this Airsoft Extreme tech guide, we show you how to install an offset flashlight mount on Picatinny, M-LOK, and KeyMod handguards. Learn proper orientation, mounting positions, and setup tips for your M600-style weapon light.

How to Mount a Flashlight on Picatinny, M-LOK, and KeyMod Rails

Welcome back to another Airsoft Extreme blog! Today, we’ll be showing you how to mount your flashlight onto multiple rifle platforms regardless of whether your replica uses a Picatinny, KeyMod, or M-LOK handguard.

Airsoft Extreme stocks the Offset Side Picatinny Mount for M600 lights, but it will also work with many other flashlights that share the same mounting footprint. This mount can attach directly to a Picatinny rail or to a Picatinny adapter installed on KeyMod or M-LOK handguards. (Picture 1)

Tools Required

The offset mount includes a 2.5mm Allen wrench, but you will also need a 2mm Allen driver or wrench to remove the stock flashlight mount. (Picture 2)

Step 1: Remove the Factory Mount

Using your 2mm Allen driver, remove the stock mounting hardware from your flashlight. (Pictures 3, 4)

Step 2: Install the Offset Mount

Now that the original mount has been removed, we can move onto installing the offset mount.

The offset mount is omni-directional, meaning it can be configured for both left-handed and right-handed setups depending on your preference and rifle layout. (Pictures 5, 6)

Once you determine your preferred orientation, use the included 2.5mm Allen wrench to install the provided screws through the mount and into the flashlight body. (Picture 7)

Step 3: Attach the Mount to Your Rifle

With the flashlight secured to the mount, it’s time to install it onto your rifle.

Use the provided 2.5mm Allen wrench to loosen the side set screw, which opens the clamp enough to attach it to your rail system. (Picture 8)

KeyMod and M-LOK Setups

For KeyMod and M-LOK handguards, you can attach the mount directly to a 12 o’clock Picatinny rail adapter. This setup positions the flashlight at either the 1 o’clock or 11 o’clock position depending on orientation. (Pictures 9, 10)

Standard Picatinny Rail Setups

When mounted to standard Picatinny handguards at the 3 or 9 o’clock positions, the offset mount angles the flashlight toward the 2 o’clock or 10 o’clock position for a streamlined setup with easier switch access. (Pictures 11, 12)

Final Thoughts

This style of offset mount is a simple and effective way to improve ergonomics and reduce unnecessary bulk on your rifle setup while maintaining easy access to your weapon light.
